This map shown is a virtual representation of the 2018 Iowa Crop progress by CRD using the most recent data from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS)
As of June 3rd, 2018, 98% of the South-Central corn has emerged, East-Central is right behind with 97% emerged and followed by Central with 96% emerged. North-Central has the lowest percent in the state but is not far behind with 82% emerged.
Iowa soybean planting is not yet complete - the South-Central CRD has 98% planted followed by a three-way tie between the Central, East-Central and South-East districts having 97% planted. The Northern crop reporting districts are tied for the lowest percent planted with 88%.
The Central district now has 87% of its soybeans emerged, followed by South-Central at 86% and the northern part of the state falling behind with the North-Central district only having 58% of its soybeans emerged.
The Iowa CRD with the highest percent of oats headed is the South-Western district with 48%, followed by East-Central at 31% headed. The Northern districts are far behind with the lowest percentage being the North-Central district having only 7% headed, and 12% for both West-Central and East-Central. The district with the highest percent for the first cutting of alfalfa is the East-Central district with 76%, however the North--East district only has 35%.
