Working with the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation, Decision Innovation Solutions (DIS) is identifying what impact an adjusted gross income limitation would have on the ability to continue farming. The Iowa Farm Bureau Federation has invested in the creation and maintenance of several databases which are linked to their membership database. Using databases such as the farm payment and voter databases, DIS continues to assist the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation as they influence federal farm bills that impact their
members.
In another Iowa Farm Bureau Federation project, DIS evaluated land use and its impact on water quality. One of our team members was the lead author of an article which appeared in the Journal of Environmental Quality, a well-respected peer-reviewed journal. DIS also assists in populating an "economic dashboard", which is designed to keep Iowa Farm Bureau members abreast of changing trends impacting their farms.
